Taking a guided tour of campus is a great way to learn about the Island University and the many opportunities we can offer you. Our walking tours of central campus provide you and your family with an overview of our academic programs, campus history, student life, and traditions.

Campus tours for prospective freshmen and families are offered Monday through Friday at 9:00am, 11:00am, and 1:00pm (summer tour times are subject to change). Each campus tour begins with a university overview and freshman admissions presentation. Campus tours are approximately one hour to an hour and a half long.

Campus tours for prospective transfer students and families are offered on select Tuesdays at 2:00pm. Each campus tour begins with a university overview and transfer admissions presentation. Campus tours are approximately one hour hour long. Cant make it on a for a Transfer Tuesday tour? Register for a general campus tour offered Monday through Friday at 9:00am, 11:00am, and 1:00pm.

Interested in earning a master's degree or doctoral degree? TAMU-CC offers graduate students specialized work spaces, workshops, and more. 

We will coordinate meetings with faculty and provide you with a campus tour so you can learn more about your program of interest, funding your education, and research opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Who will provide my campus tour?

A: Campus tours are given by our volunteer Island Ambassadors. 

Q: How long are walking campus tours? 

A: Walking Campus Tours are approximately an hour to an hour and a half long. 

Q: What will I see on tour? 

A: We will take you into most academic buildings, the wellness center, library, and student union. 

Q: Can I tour Islander Housing?

A: Housing Tours are offered by Miramar and Momentum Village. Please visit our Islander Housing website to learn more about our on-campus housing communities. To ensure availability during your visit, we recommend that you call them in advance at 361.825.4663(HOME). 

Q: Do you offer cart tours?

A: We offer walking tours of campus. However, we can try to provide a cart tour for visitors who have a physical disability if a request in made at least two weeks in advance. Email tour@tamucc.edu with your inquiry. 

Q: Do you offer tours on the weekend?

A: No, campus tours are offered Monday through Friday. However, Island Day campus preview events are hosted on select Saturdays throughout the academic year.

Q: Can I meet with an admissions counselor or financial aid advisor during my visit?

A: Yes, all admissions counselors and financial aid staff allow walk-in meetings. If you would like to contact a counselor or staff member in advance, please click here for contact information. 

Q: Can I meet with an academic advisor to learn specifics about my interested major?

Q: Can I register for classes when I visit for a tour? 

A: All admitted freshmen, must attend an Islander Launch - New Student Orientation program to register for classes. Admitted transfer students are encouraged to contact their academic advisor. Admitted transfer students can contact the Department of Undergraduate Studies Transfer Teams at 361.825.5931 for general transfer information and questions. Transfer students in the application process should contact Rachel Lawson at rachel.lawson@tamucc.edu
